Elon Musk’s Boring Company Signs Agreement for Dubai Loop High-Speed Transport Network

Elon Musk’s The Boring Company has signed a preliminary agreement with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to develop the Dubai Loop, a 17-kilometer (10.6-mile) underground high-speed transport network. The project, announced during the World Governments Summit, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Dubai’s busiest areas.

The initial phase of the project will include 11 stations, with trains transporting passengers at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. The system is designed to carry over 20,000 passengers per hour initially, with plans to expand capacity to more than 100,000 passengers per hour in the future.

Omar Al Olama, the UAE’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence, revealed the project during a video interview with Musk, though specific details remain undisclosed. The Boring Company emphasized that the memorandum of understanding marks the beginning of a pilot phase, with further developments to follow.

The Dubai Loop is expected to revolutionize urban transportation in the emirate, offering a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional road networks.
